Dovida has launched a new recruitment campaign to create 25 caregiver roles across Waterford.

The new positions will include flexible and fixed-hour roles, with full-time hours also available.

“In our experience, a lot of people really like the flexibility the job offers,” said Steven Tubbritt, General Manager of Dovida Waterford. He added that the roles are particularly popular with people whose children are returning to school or starting school for the first time, as well as those studying.

Dovida provides a wide range of home care and support services, with its person-centred approach helping caregivers build meaningful relationships with clients.

Client Robin Gordon said home support allows him to live as independently as possible, while Angela Boyd highlighted the importance of companionship, saying she loves the daily “chat” with her home help.

Dovida employs more than 4,000 caregivers nationwide. Susan Corkery, who has worked with the company for almost 20 years, encouraged others to consider a career in care.

“Go for it,” she said. “I loved it from the word go. The friendships you make and the relationships you build with clients are incredible. There’s nothing like it.”

Dovida’s Caregiver of the Year 2026, Emma McGrath, said being a caregiver is highly rewarding, adding: “Every day is different, and I absolutely love being a caregiver.”
