Ardscoil na Mara Tramore Principal Mr Pádraig Cawley is leaving the school to take up the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust.

Mr Cawley has served as Principal since 2014, following the amalgamation of CBS Tramore and Stella Maris. During his time at Ardscoil na Mara, he oversaw significant growth and development, including a major extension project, the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and the continued development of teaching, learning and student support.

As CEO, Mr Cawley will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across the Trust’s network of approximately 96 primary and post-primary schools and associated educational projects.

Acting Principal Aoife Denton paid tribute to Mr Cawley, saying he had provided “exceptional leadership” and always put the interests of students, staff and the wider school community at the heart of his work.

Ms Denton will now take up the role of Acting Principal, while Ms Una Lonergan will join Deputy Principals Brendan Cahill and Sharon Power as Acting Deputy Principal.

The Ardscoil na Mara community has expressed its gratitude to Mr Cawley for his years of service and wished him every success and happiness in his new role.
