Plans for a 40-unit apartment development at Keanes Road in Waterford City have been withdrawn.

The planning application, submitted by Norris Real Estate Holdings Limited, had proposed the construction of 40 apartments at Tycor, including 24 one-bedroom units, five two-bedroom units and 11 three-bedroom units.

The application had drawn opposition from residents of The Willows, who raised concerns over proposals to create access to the development through the existing residential estate.

Residents said they were worried about increased traffic, road safety and the potential impact on the character of the long-established cul-de-sac.

The plans also included the demolition of part of an existing boundary to facilitate an access road into the proposed development.

Waterford City and County Council’s planning records now show that the application was withdrawn on October 27th.

The application had originally been received and validated on September 28th, with a decision due by November 22nd.

No reason for the withdrawal is listed on the council’s planning portal.
