Style, glamour and generosity take centre stage at Breast Cancer Ireland’s Annual ‘Race for a Cure’ Race Day, supported by Porsche Ireland.

Serious fundraising met standout style and a lively social scene at Breast Cancer Ireland’s much-anticipated 4th annual Race for a Cure Race Day, proudly sponsored by Porsche Ireland, which returned to Leopardstown Racecourse, Dublin, in spectacular fashion this season.

The sold-out event welcomed over 450 guests from across Ireland’s business, fashion, and social circles, all coming together in support of Breast Cancer Ireland’s life-saving research, education, and awareness programmes. A firm favourite on the fundraising calendar, the day once again delivered an uplifting blend of purpose and celebration.

Well-known guests in attendance included Elaine Crowley, Andrea Gilligan, Shane Byrne, Aisling Roche, Senator Teresa Costello, and Paul Ryder, amongst others.

This year’s proceedings opened with warm welcomes from Aisling Hurley, CEO of Breast Cancer Ireland, alongside longstanding event sponsor Gavin HydesCEO of Porsche Ireland and The Joe Duffy Group. Both speakers reflected on the strength and longevity of the partnership, and the tangible impact it continues to make in advancing breast cancer research in Ireland.

Speaking on the day, Gavin Hydes said, “We’re delighted to continue our support of the Race for a Cure Race Day and, most importantly, the vital work of Breast Cancer Ireland. Later, Professor Arnie Hill, Chairman of Breast Cancer Ireland and Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Beaumont Hospital, also addressed guests with an update on the evolving landscape of breast cancer treatment. His message of optimism and progress was very uplifting, showing how research innovation is showing real determination to end this disease.

Guiding the day’s proceedings with her trademark warmth, style, and professionalism was RTÉ broadcaster Miriam O’Callaghan, while racing enthusiasts were treated to expert tips from experienced Racing Tipster Kevin O’Ryan, adding to the excitement trackside.

Excitement peaked as a special fundraising ‘balloon pop’ revealed a delighted winner whose bright pink balloon (one of just 100 available for purchase on the day) revealed a stunning Paul Sheeran diamond, valued at almost 2,000 euros.
