All eyes were on Kobe McDonald in Croke Park as he helped Mayo secure their first All-Ireland win since 1951 in July, but who is the lady by his side?
The GAA star surprised fans as he proudly held up the Sam Maguire Cup alongside his girlfriend Leah Maheady.

School days
Kobe and Leah both attended co-ed Catholic school Gortnor Abbey in Crossmolina.
The Mayo girl appears to be 18 years old like her boyfriend, though it is believed she was a year above Kobe in school.
While the sporting star only completed his Leaving Certificate exams in June 2026, Leah graduated in 2025.
Heading to the Debs
It appears the pair have been dating for at least a year, as Leah brought Kobe as a date to her debs last summer.
The couple looked loved up as they matched in all-black. Kobe wrapped his arm around Leah in the snaps as they beamed.
Kobe left a string of heart-eye emojis beneath the carousel of snaps.
However, Kobe has been sharing snaps with Leah at house parties from as far back as 2024.
Studying
Leah’s social media suggests she is currently in her first year of college at NUIG in Galway, regularly posting snaps from nights out with friends in the city.
The All-Ireland final
The Crossmolina native beamed with pride alongside her love in Croke Park, wearing a Mayo jersey of course, when Kobe and the team secured their historic win.
Kobe explained that he was determined to be part of the county team despite studying for his Leaving Cert.
‘There was a phone call with me and my dad at the start, maybe December time, just with the offer to come in,’ he told RTÉ Sport.
‘Then we were obviously talking at home about how difficult that would be with school or whatever.’
‘But it’s something I really wanted to do since I was knee-high. And to get that chance this year, I could never turn it down,’ Kobe said.
Celebrating at the All-Stars
In October, Kobe and Leah got to celebrate Mayo’s achievement at the All-Star Awards in Dublin, with Leah looking fabulous in a white dress.
She wore an ivory satin dress with a high neckline and softly draped detailing that was from Baby Boo.
Leah completed her look by adding a touch of sparkle with a statement gold clutch and shoes from BooHoo.
