Move over, Zara Larsson, because this year at Electric Picnic, it was our own CMAT that blew the audience away.
It may have rained all weekend at the annual event, but when CMAT rocked up on stage, the weather was the last thing on anyone’s mind.
Delivering all her hits, the Meath star decided to take a little time to dedicate one song on her list to the one and only Dolly Parton, who had passed away earlier in the week.

However, for fans attending the gig, there was a sense of worry in the air that the Irish singer may not perform on the night.
She was due to play a gig in Paris the night before, but the singer had to pull out due to illness.
After a nerve-jangling few hours, CMAT confirmed that she would be performing, not wanting to let her Irish fans down.
Kicking off her performance, CMAT opened her set with one of Dolly’s most famous songs, Jolene, giving it socks, as she does with all her performances; the crowd sang along with her.
For those who missed the chance to make it down to Electric Picnic this year, the star posted the video on her social media and within minutes, fans from all over the world began to comment.

One follower wrote, ‘What a tribute. You’ve done her proud,’ while another loved the Irish singer’s voice, ‘A queen singing another queen.’
The singer would be blushing after so many compliments, with some even comparing her to the famous star, stating, ‘I’ve literally described you to people as a contemporary Irish Dolly Parton.’
