Vogue Williams pulled off a pregnancy prank on her Heart Breakfast co-host Jamie Theakston on Monday morning after convincing him that she had gone into labour.
The presenter is just a matter of weeks away from welcoming her fourth child with Spencer Matthews, though she managed to convince her radio partner that the baby was arriving early.
The show’s producers were in on the prank, leaving Jamie completely in the dark.
Vogue, who is standing in for Amanda Holden on the show, used a water balloon under her chair to make it seem that her waters had broken live on air.
She set the scene by initially telling Jamie that her back was ‘really sore’, before she dropped the water balloon.
Vogue exclaimed: ‘What just happened? Oh my God!’, leading to Jamie asking: ‘You alright? Your waters not breaking, is it?’
Vogue replied: ‘Oh, my God, yes! You’re f***ing kidding me.’
Jamie remained calm as he rushed to assist his co-host, reassuring her by saying ‘You’re okay, you’re alright’, before asking ‘Where’s Spenny at the moment?’
Vogue answered: ‘I don’t know where he is. Oh, God where has everyone gone? They’re all just gone.’
Jamie told the team to ‘go and get a car’ and insisted to Vogue: ‘You’re not going to have the baby right now, let me tell you.’
Vogue struggled to hold in her laughter but continued to tell her co-host that he ‘might have to literally wheel me on this chair’.
Jamie once again reassured: ‘We can try get you to walk. We’ll go downstairs and get a taxi. We’ll get a taxi out the back.’
Finally, Vogue and the team revealed the prank and the 40-year-old fell to the floor laughing as the confetti cannon was fired.
The shocked Jamie exclaimed: ‘Oh, you’re kidding me? You little ****. That’s so cruel. I was about to go with you in a taxi to the hospital.’
Vogue replied: ‘You were so nice. I feel really guilty. Well, you know what, if anything ever went wrong, I’d like you to be there. You’re very calm under pressure. Well done!’
Jamie received a lot of praise on social media for how he handled the situation, with Olly Murs commenting: ‘I’m calling Jamie with any emergency from now on!! Cool as you like.’
