Producers of The Traitors Ireland have turned the dial on the drama all the way up in perhaps one of the best episodes of the RTÉ show yet.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, the Traitors currently living in Slane Castle are Carla and Pauric O, but suspicion has quickly fallen on the former after Aoife’s parting shot.
Pauric O had been flying under the radar. That is, until Janet discovered his little secret in the best way.
On Monday, after a Round Table vote saw Faithful Donal banished from the castle, the Traitors were tasked with murdering a player in plain sight — which is no easy feat.
Pauric O read a letter, which stated clearly that they had to take the hand of a player of their choosing and say the words, ‘Goodnight and thanks for the dance’.
Immediately, the Tipperary man swept into the room his fellow players occupied, demanding some alone time with Carla to chat about the Round Table. To us, that was suspicious, but the players didn’t seem to pick up on it.
Carla and Pauric O’s private conversation, in which they were discussing how they were going to execute such a plan, was interrupted when Janet entered the room to chat to them about the Round Table.
The trio stood up to make their way back to their fellow players, and without thinking, Pauric O seized the opportunity to grab Janet’s hand. Somewhat whimsically, the pair skipped out of the room, with him saying, ‘Goodnight, and thanks for the dance’.
Initially, we thought, “My God, he’s done it”. It was perfect. But Janet, it seems, is just too quick-minded. In a U-turn, she exclaimed: ‘Did you just murder me!?’
Pauric O and Carla were left dumbfounded and… the episode ended. We need to have serious words with producers!
Fans from across Ireland flocked to every social media platform they could access to chat amongst themselves about the spectacle, with one explaining their ‘nerves are shot’.
‘DID YOU JUST MURDER ME 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can’t breathe. Where is the next episode? I need it nooooowwwwwww 🤣🤣🤣 Oh, Janet!,’ Arthur Gourounlian commented on the moment.
‘Nah, that was INCREDIBLE – the gasp I gusp,’ someone else wrote, as a fourth said: ‘Awhhhhh what a cliffhanger!!! I screamed 😂 they are goners !!!’
Another Traitors Ireland fan commented: ‘Absolutely devastated, but what an unbelievably iconic moment for you. We both fell off the couch!!!’
We don’t know where this leaves us! Will Janet leg it back into her fellow players and reveal Pauric O and Carla as co-conspirators? If so, both of them are getting the boot ASAP.
Before this, we thought Carla had done a pretty good job of deflecting the blame from herself, and Pauric O had done a pretty good job of keeping a low-profile.
Monday night saw two more Faithfuls leave the walls of Slane Castle; Seán C was murdered face-to-face by the Traitors, and the Round Table saw an emotional Donal banished from the game.
We can hardly wait for tonight’s episode. Let the chaos ensue!
