Diego and Denis, stars of The Traitors Ireland, shocked fans and their fellow players when they revealed their romance.

And ‘romance’ is underselling it; the couple has been together for eleven years, and married for two of those years. The reality stars tied the knot on June 21, 2024, and have been going strong ever since.

Now, after clinching the €22,925 prize pot (well done, Diego), the pair has let their followers in on the story of their relationship.

On Tuesday, Denis and Diego shared a series of sweet snaps through their joint Instagram account, writing: ‘The main question we’re being asked is where we met…

‘Everybody knows that every great love story begins in the alley outside @thegeorgedublin. This is our recreation of what happened on the 03rd January 2015:

‘Diego: “Are you straight?” Denis: “No.” Diego: “Can I kiss you on your lips?” Denis: “Yes…” And the rest is herstory!’

Denis and Diego managed to keep their relationship on the DL throughout their time on The Traitors Ireland; and luckily for them, none of their fellow contestants raised questions when they were still holding hands after securing a seat in Musical Chairs.

The two Cork men received two shields granting them immunity after being the last two standing during the game. They then found a quiet spot upon their return to the castle to embrace in secret.

Denis and Diego let viewers in on their secret, joking that they have been dancing together for over a decade.

At the time, Diego told viewers: ‘The thing the other players don’t know is that I have quite a lot of experience dancing with Denis, because he is my husband of 11 years.’

As the couple debriefed in private, Diego laughed: ‘Nobody has a clue.’
