A star is born in Cillian Murphy’s 19-year-old son, Aran Murphy.
The teen has not only inherited his famous father’s talent for performance, but he exudes the same poised and humble demureness as his old man. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it’s Cillian Murphy’s son!
Aran stepped out at the premiere of Klara and the Sun, in which he stars opposite Amy Adams, Jenna Ortega and Steve Buscemi, at the BFI London Film Festival on Thursday.

Aran looked dotey, but all grown up at the same time, sporting Irish design in Simone Rocha, styled by Irish woman Olivia Creighton.
He’s carving his own path (mostly away from the limelight, one would assume), but Aran certainly won’t forget his values or who raised him: his Oscar-winning father Cillian.
Speaking to Deadline on the red carpet, Aran revealed the ‘universal’ piece of advice his famous dad bestowed unto him that he’ll carry with him.

‘He kind of always just says, “Trust your instincts”. It’s a pretty universal piece of advice. But yeah, trust your instincts and be kind to people,’ Aran said.
It’s safe to say fans are loving watching a young Aran come into bloom, pointing out that he’s a chip off the old block. One Instagram user wrote: ‘Awww “be kind to people”, he’s such an adorable puppy version of Cillian.’
‘He’s GOT to quit looking so much like his daddy!,’ someone else wrote, as a third joked: ‘Ctrl + Cillian.’

Aran made his acting debut just weeks ago in Sharon Horgan’s Youth, one of three projects he has lined up for 2026.
Chatting about how his acting entry is coming at quite some speed, the 19-year-old said: ‘I’m going to roll with the punches, see how it goes.
‘I’m very new to this whole thing. I thought it would be nice and staggered, but it’s very much ripping the Band-Aid off.’

He told the Irish Times of his Youth character, Ruairí: ‘He’s at the same stage in his life that I’m at, where you’re on the cusp of graduating into the real world…
‘All the anxiety and uncertainty is familiar in a lot of ways. It doesn’t seem too far from what I’ve heard or experienced in my life. There’s a lot of dread.’
