Fresh from a standout appearance at Electric Picnic The Saw Doctors have announced an outdoor concert for summer 2027.

The Galway band will headline Virgin Media Park in Cork on Saturday, 3 July 2027, as they reach 40 years together as a touring act.

The gig comes after The Saw Doctors’ sold-out performance at the same venue in 2025.

Joining them on the night will be special guests The Stunning.

The announcement follows one of the band’s most memorable recent performances when they took to the stage at Electric Picnic and were joined by Mayo’s All-Ireland-winning team for a rousing rendition of The Green and Red of Mayo in front of a crowd of 50,000 festival-goers.

Next summer’s Cork concert will also serve as a celebration of four decades of The Saw Doctors, whose journey began in McEvoy’s Jersey Bar in Tuam, Co Galway, during the 1980s.

Over the years, the band have gone from playing packed ballroom gigs in Galway to selling out prestigious venues including London’s Royal Albert Hall and SummerStage in Central Park, New York.

Their current eight-piece line-up also includes Rickie O’Neill, Kieran Duddy and Tommy Carton, alongside acclaimed musicians Anthony Thistlethwaite, formerly of The Waterboys, and Noelie McDonnell of The Whileaways.
