June graced us with Steven Spielberg’s latest sci-fi movie, Disclosure Day, and the long-awaited Toy Story 5, and now we’re looking ahead to July.
This month, there’s something for everyone to sink their teeth into, from heartfelt childhood classics to a history lesson from Christopher Nolan and something for the Marvel fans.
With that in mind, here are five movies we can’t wait to watch this July.
Enola Holmes 3 – July 1

Millie Bobby Brown, Louis Partridge, Henry Cavill and Helena Bonham Carter return for the third instalment in the Enola Holmes franchise for Netflix.
‘It’s a mystery only a Holmes can solve: Bride-to-be Enola plunges into danger when Sherlock vanishes in Malta,’ the movie’s synopsis reads. Immediate intrigue!

Stranger Things actress Millie is up to her old antics as Enola Holmes, the sister of Sherlock, who loves breaking the fourth wall to talk to her audience.
One excited YouTube user wrote: ‘I always have a soft spot for these movies,’ as another penned: ‘The Enola Holmes franchise is the perfect combination of cozy and captivating. Who’d have guessed that deciding to randomly watch “a children’s show” six years ago would have brought me this much fun??’
Enola Holmes 3 is streaming on Netflix as of July 1. Watch the trailer here.
The Invite – July 3

The Invite, starring Olivia Wilde, Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton, looks like it’s going to have us cackling our heads off.
It’s a comedy movie directed by Olivia Wilde (Don’t Worry Darling), based on the 2020 Spanish film, The People Upstairs.

It follows Joe, a failed musician, and his wife, Angela, as they invite their upstairs neighbours, Pína and Hawk, over for dinner.
The night descends into unexpected chaos the couple isn’t expecting. Deep-seated insecurities and desires are revealed, with the film exploring themes of marriage, communication, and the complexities of modern relationships.
The Invite is set for release on July 3. Watch the trailer here.
Moana (Live-Action) – July 10

While Moana, which was released in 2016, wasn’t exactly due for a live-action remake, we’re thankful that we’re getting one.
The movie follows Moana (Catherine Laga’aia), the adventurous teenage daughter of Chief Tui and Sina from the island of Motunui.
She’s chosen by the ocean to restore the Heart of Te Fiti and save her people. She ventures beyond the reef for the first time, accompanied by demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson), a shapeshifting trickster.
It’s a tale of determination, navigating challenges, and becoming a leader and protector of her people. If we’re honest, we’re most excited that The Rock is reprising his role as Maui from the animated movies.
Moana is set for release on July 10. Watch the trailer here.
The Odyssey – July 17

The Odyssey is Christopher Nolan’s take on Homer’s legendary tale of gods, monsters, and an impossible journey.
The tale follows Odysseus, King of Ithaca, who survives the Trojan War only to find himself embroiled in an even greater challenge: finding his way home.
After an already decade-long battle between the Trojans and Achaeans, a short voyage home turns into another ten-year-long struggle for Odysseus.
He battles everything from terrifying creatures, powerful sorceresses, treacherous seas, and the wrath of the almighty gods.

At home in Ithaca, Odysseus’ wife, Penelope, is struggling to prevent the throne from being seized by rivals. Meanwhile, their son, Telemachus, embarks on a dangerous quest of his own in a bid to discover what happened to his father.
The movie boasts a star-studded cast, including Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, and Robert Pattinson.
The Odyssey is set for release on July 17. Watch the trailer here.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day – July 31

Zendaya and Tom Holland have a blockbuster movie month in front of them. On the back of The Odyssey, the newlyweds reunite on-camera for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
In the fourth instalment of Holland’s Spider-Man adventures, we see Peter Parker attempt to balance college life while leaving his Spidey responsibilities behind him.
But when a new threat endangers his friends, he must suit up once more, teaming up with an unexpected ally to protect those he loves.
For MCU fans, this storyline serves as a reset for Peter Parker, exploring new challenges and friendships after the mind-wiping events of No Way Home.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set for release on July 31. Watch the trailer here.
