Shay Given has tied the knot with his longtime love, Rebecca Gibson, in London’s Westminster Abbey.
The Ireland legend met Rebecca in 2013, the same year he announced his separation from Jane Cunningham after 12 years of marriage.
Shay proposed two years into their relationship on a trip to Los Angeles, though they waited another 11 years to officially say ‘I do’.
The wedding took place at the famous London church on Saturday, with the pair announcing the news on Instagram.
They captioned the post: ‘10.10.26. Westminster Abbey.’
Many well-known faces congratulated the newlyweds in the comments section, including Ronan Keating, Robbie Fowler, Richie Sadlier and David McGoldrick.
Given donned a black velvet tuxedo, while Rebecca wore a long, flowery, white gown.
The bride also walked down the aisle with a floor-length veil, while carrying a tight bouquet of all-white roses.
The couple met while Shay was contracted to Aston Villa in 2013, though he spent the majority of the season on loan at Middlesbrough. Rebecca was working in PR at the time.
Rebecca first showed off her engagement ring while at the Irish premiere of the Mrs Brown’s Boys movie in 2015.
In December 2015, they welcomed their first child, Gracie, and their second daughter, Cassie Elsa, arrived in 2017.
Recent years have been tough for Shay, losing his brother, Kieran, and his uncle, Ambrose, around Christmas time in 2023.
Kieran died in his adopted home of Germany on December 23 from an illness, while Ambrose died in a hospice and was laid to rest on Thursday, December 28.
Shay is a regular on Irish screens these days as a pundit, often appearing on Premier Sports.
