Nathan Carter received an ‘unbelievable’ surprise as he was inducted into The Late Late Show Country Music Hall of Fame on Friday.
The 36-year-old is the youngest recipient of the award to date, joining previous inductees in the Hall of Fame, including Daniel O’Donnell, Sandy Kelly, Margo, Philomena Begley, Declan Nerney, Susan McCann, and Big Tom.
Nathan and his younger brother, Jake Carter, hail from Liverpool, but Ireland has all but claimed them as their own, welcoming the talented men with open arms.

Nathan was in shock on Friday when last year’s inductee Sandy Kelly announced the award to him, and in the sweetest moment, Nathan’s parents, Ian and Noreen, and his granny, Anne, later joined him on the couch.
The cherry on top of an already incredibly sweet evening was the full-circle moment it accompanied.
The Late Late Show Country Music Special kicked off with a rendition of Time of Your Life, which Nathan noted was the first song he ever sang on the Late Late Show some 13 years ago.

Nathan said receiving the accolade with his family present was ‘unbelievable. I just didn’t expect it’.
‘Thank you so much,’ he gushed. ‘It’s been 15, 16 amazing years since I left Liverpool and never dreamt [of this]… Starting off in pubs… back here tonight.’

‘Funny enough, we opened with Time of Your Life tonight, and that was the first song I sang on The Late Late as a single, 13 years ago,’ he said.
Later, Nathan shared snippets from his magical evening on social media, writing: ‘I was completely shocked and proud to be welcomed into the Country Music Hall of Fame tonight on The Late Late Show in recognition of achievements in the business.’

‘I want to say a massive thank you to my family, all the fans for the love and support, and to all the people that have helped me along the way. #ProudMoment #Surprised,’ he concluded.
Congratulations, Nathan — well deserved!
