Miss Universe Ireland’s Aideen Howard has revealed she hopes to find love since winning the title.

Last month, the 22-year-old was crowned Miss Universe Ireland, following in the same footsteps as Roz Purcell and Joanna Cooper.

Boston-born Aideen, who is living in Castletroy in Limerick, will represent Ireland on the world stage in Puerto Rico in November.

But the model told us that it will only be her family cheering her on in the crowds as she is single – but is hoping to find love.

She told EVOKE: ‘I’m very much single. I’m definitely focused on the competition but I’ll never say never. I’m very much “what’s for me, won’t pass me by”.’

Aideen also spoke about how tough the competition is and admitted she has been accused in the past of dabbling in cosmetic procedures to enhance her beauty.

‘Yeah the odd time but I don’t put any weight on them.

‘I found that there was no conversation of any cosmetic procedures whether girls have things done or not. I haven’t heard any conversation.

‘I think it’s a very open conversation. It’s something that if women want to partake in it, they are more than welcome to and if they don’t, then that is their choice.

‘I don’t (get cosmetic surgery). Right now, I’m happy with (how I look).

‘People will make their guesses and just presume sometimes. People can think whatever they want.’

‘It’s been so overwhelming but in the best way possible. My comments have been just flooded with nothing but support.

‘The support is not only from Ireland but it’s from all over the world. Miss Universe means so much to so many people,’ she added.
