Maura Higgins is in ‘advanced’ talks to take on hosting duties for a Disney+ reboot of a beloved dating show.
The 35-year-old has extensive presenting experience, having fronted Love Island USA Aftersun for three years.
The Longford legend bid farewell to the gig earlier in the year, explaining that it was ‘time to try something different.’
Off the back of her successful run on The Traitors US earlier this year, Maura was confirmed among the line-up for the upcoming series of the American Dancing with the Stars.
The presenter and reality star is now in talks to take on a new presenting gig, with Disney+ currently working towards a reboot of Blind Date.
The famed reality dating show was fronted by the late Cilla Black from 1985 to 2003, raking up to 17 million viewers before being axed by ITV.
Channel 5 revived the show in 2017 to 2019 with Paul O’Grady at the helm, though it wasn’t as successful.
The matchmaking show had one contestant working to decide against three hidden suitors of the opposite sex, tasked with choosing one of them based on the answers of a string of answers.
Now, Disney+ are hoping to have a more accomplished reboot, and are on the lookout for a female presenter.
The Sun report that while the streaming service would keep elements such as the famous wall to separate contestants, but are looking for to incorporate modern twists.
The publication added that discussions were at an ‘advanced stage’ for Maura to take on the role as presenter.
‘Not only did she shoot to fame on a TV dating contest, she is now an internationally famous face which is what a global service like Disney need for one of their shows,’ a TV insider said.
They added that Maura has the ‘unquestionable glamour [and] cheeky charm’ reminiscent of the late Cilla.
