Ex-Love Island star Jack Keating has given this unusual tip to Irish hopeful Seán Fitzgerald to avoid the show from airing something contestants don’t want the public to hear.
The son of Ronan Keating appeared on Love Island twice over the last few years. He entered the villa back in 2022 as a Casa Amor contestant and then returned again to find love last January, as part of the cast for Season 3 of Love Island: All Stars.
And with plenty of wisdom now earned from the show, Jack has shared some tips for the Galway footballer who is set to make his TV debut on the Virgin Media show after June 1.
He told EVOKE: ‘This is what I found out while I was in there. This is the only time you can actually get away with saying something that won’t be on camera, and a few people did this while we were in the villa.
‘If you want to say something that’s going to be on the show, just pull your trousers down and have your a**e out on camera. They won’t air any of it. So they won’t air anything if someone’s got their bum out in the background.
‘I remember sometimes I wanted to say something to the lads and just be like, “Right, pull the trousers down and have my a**e out, and then I’ll be able to say something that I knew wouldn’t be shown.’
Jack also shared some advice for Seán ahead of his TV debut.
He said: ‘He seems like a great guy. Just try to stay true to yourself. Kind of just keep your head up, don’t try to get too involved in what you think people are going to see, what you’re like outside the villa. Kind of just stay involved in what’s in front of you.
‘Don’t get too high, don’t get too low. I mean, it’s hard to say that when you’re in there, but you know, just keep your head on your shoulders.’
He warned Sean that cameras are everywhere and mics are still on when show contestants are outside the villa vaping or smoking.
‘I didn’t know about, so like you go out and have chat to people thinking you’re off camera, and then they have like ‘the voice of God’ saying “Jack, you’re still on camera while you’re out here”.
‘There’s cameras, like they’re all hidden, every single one of them,’ he added.
Jack was speaking as he was DJ-ing at the Best Dressed Energy celebration for the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at The Dylan Hotel in Dublin on Wednesday night.
