Johnny Ward has paid tribute to his Fair City character Ciaran Holloway following his grand return in recent weeks.
The Dublin actor reprised the role in 2024 after a five year absence, and was recently at the centre of another storyline.
Ward joined the RTE soap drama in 2016, and was a central character during the infamous Katy O’Brien kidnapping plot.

The character has since been incarcerated, and returned in recent years as some storylines behind bars were carried out.
Among the latest storylines, Holloway caused recent chaos as he stabbed fellow inmate Danny Maloney during a brawl inside jail.
The chaos erupted at the end of a workshop carried out by Orla Molloy, with journalist Nina confronted by Ciaran about her intentions to write a book about his coloured past.

The jailbird burst into a rage, and was apprehended by fellow prisoner Danny Moloney, who was then stabbed by Ciaran leaving him critically injured.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, actor Johnny paid tribute to his Fair City career, writing that it was ‘The End for now…’
He said: ‘A massive thank you for all of your very kind messages over the last few weeks. Your support has been amazing as always.
‘The part of Ciaran Holloway is a dream to play and this dream is far from over.
‘Until next time.’
Friends and followers took to the comments, extending well wishes and praise.

‘The best Irish bad boy,’ one wrote, while another added: ‘Ciaran is a legend!!’
A third commented: ‘Awh ragen, you are great to watch, act the part very well… hope to see you back soon.’
For those hoping to catch Johnny in another capacity, the actor will take to the stage at the Ambassador Theater next week for a limited-Halloween pantomime.

Johnny will transform into the Big Bad Wolf for the upcoming production of Little Red and the Big Bad Wolf.
The Halloween panto was written by fellow Fair City alumni Rob Murphy, with George McMahon (also of Fair City fame) returning to the role of Billy Silly.
Alongside the Fair City stars, Laura Kelly takes on the role as Glammy D Granny, Robert Downes is Dame Bridie and Hazel Park takes on the titular Little Red.
Tickets to Little Red and The Big Bad Wolf are on sale now via Ticketmaster and can be purchased here. Attendees are encouraged to dress up!
