Joanne McNally has reacted to some backlash she has received ahead of her appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show.
The Irish comedian is set to make her American TV debut next week when she appears on the NBC show on Monday.
The news comes as Joanne continues with the American leg of her Pinotphile show.

Joanne will appear on the US talk show, which is viewed by 1.5 million people weekly, alongside actor Chris Pratt and TV personality Andy Cohen.
While many were full of congratulations for Joanne, one TikTok user was rather miffed that McNally was appearing on the show which had hosted Conor McGregor not too long ago.
Holli Breslin said that while she was ‘delighted’ for the comedian, but was opposed to it being on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

‘Wasn’t it just a few months ago when people were calling Jimmy Fallon out and saying that they won’t support him again because he had Conor McGregor on — a man who was found liable for rape — on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and he just had the craic with him and had a laugh and a joke around,’ Holli said in a video.
‘It wasn’t like a lot of people didn’t know that McGregor was on his show — it was a pretty big deal, and it was big backlash that he got.’
The entertainment creator added that ‘celebrities aren’t being held accountable for their own actions.’

She reiterated: ‘Just a few months ago a ton of people were outraged that he [Fallon] was acting promoting McGregor on his show and now Joanne McNally’s on and it’s like, “Oh — all is forgotten.”‘
Social media users took to the comments, with the majority disagreeing with Holli’s take on the matter.
‘Keep calling out Jimmy Fallon then not Joanne,’ one advised, another asked: ‘Did you call out Kneecap or Katie Boyle for being on? Because both of those have been on since Conor McGregor was last on and both Irish?’
A third commented: ‘God, we really expect women to shoulder all the burden for men’s sh*tty behaviour hey.’
Joanne has since responded to Holli’s video, taking to Instagram and sharing: ‘Imagine every single woman was expected to deplatform/ silence/ shrink herself from all and any public platform or professional opportunity cos it had previously had a bad man on it…
‘He’s ruined enough women’s lives… I’ll be taking the opportunity.’
Friends and followers took to the comments, full of praise for Joanne.

Entrepreneur and model Joanna Cooper said: ‘I really had to fight the urge to comment under it. Of couuuuurse it’s a woman piling on a woman, for a man’s behaviour. Course it is.’
‘Finally the booking we all want to see represent us,’ TV presenter Laura Whitmore added, while author Marian Keyes added: ‘If women had to boycott all the shows which have platformed misogynists, we’d never be on ANYTHING.
‘Step into that spotlight, Joanne, you’ve EARNED it.’
