Beauty boss Aimee Connolly has dished the details on renovating her first home.

It emerged last week that the Sculpted by Aimee founder and her husband John Greene had purchased their first home in Dublin 6.

The couple – who got married in 2023 at the Château de Varennes in the Burgundy region of France – purchased their Georgian townhouse home they have been renting for several years.

Opening up about her excitement at becoming a homeowner, Aimee told EVOKE: ‘We actually bought where we were renting, so it was kind of jammy. We don’t have to move out.

‘This is a lovely coming together of all the signs. We’re really familiar with it, we have a great relationship with a previous landlord, and we love the location. So yeah, we are where we are.

‘We’re doing a little bit of a renovation on it, so it won’t really feel like we’ve moved home or bought a house until we do that. Because you’re kind of so used to living there for the last couple of years.

‘It feels like a nice grown-up step, well overdue.’

Aimee said she will enlist the help of a contractor because she doesn’t have the extra hours to help with the renovations.

‘I don’t have the man-hours, and I would never sacrifice my work man-hours. However, I am very decisive when I need to be. So give me a visual, 1,2,3, and I’ll be like, “yes, no, yes.”

‘So I’m a woman on a mission when it comes to making decisions,’ she said at the launch of Boots Ireland’s 30 years of impact event at the Mansion House in Dublin on Tuesday.

She joked she will be a ‘dream to a contractor/nightmare’.

‘Because my first question would be, can you send me off that critical path? And by God, will I chase the bitter end of everything because, that’s just my nature. It’s like we set a mission, we set a deadline.

‘Like I need to manage myself a bit,’ she said jokingly. My husband’s better at that than I am. I don’t have patience, unfortunately. But I’m very excited,’ she added.

Aimee also opened up about plans for a global expansion with Sculpted by Aimee.

Speaking at Boots Ireland’s 30 years of impact, she announced: ‘We’re basically just looking at our geographic footprint, and I think we’re building on the confidence each time around where and who we can serve across the world.

‘We’ve got some really exciting retail partnerships in the UK next year, and that’s a huge market for us in terms of focus.

‘It’s our area of growth as well as Ireland. So we’d be mad not to further expand there. And I think each time you take on a bigger market, then it gives the confidence for the bigger guy again, which would be the US.’
