Roy Keane is set to become a grandfather once again as it was revealed his son Aidan is expecting his first child.

The Manchester United legend has five adult children with his wife of nearly 30 years, Theresa.

Now, the Cork couple are set to become grandparents again, with their fifth grandchild on the way.

As the excitement ramps up in the Keane clan, Extra.ie take a look at Keano and his life with Theresa and their five kids.

Roy

The 54-year-old needs no introduction — everyone is well aware of the legendary Cork soccer star, who was known back in the day for his no nonsense approach on and off the pitch.

The Cork man started out with Cobh Ramblers before signing for Nottingham Forest.

From 1993 to 2005, Keane lined out for Manchester United, where he made 326 appearances. From 1997 up until his departure, he captained the team. He wrapped up his club career with Celtic from 2005 to 2006.

He also captained the Republic of Ireland, playing for his country from 1991 to 2005.

Following retirement from soccer, Keane went into a managerial role and managed Sunderland from 2006 to 2008, before taking over Ipswich Town for two years in 2009 to 2011.

Now, Keane is a soccer pundit for Sky Sports, and is still known for his firm and direct perspective on the game. He also co-hosts the Stick to Football podcast with Jill Scott, Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher and Ian Wright.

Theresa

Roy and Theresa met in a Nottingham nightclub in 1992. The Nottingham native wasn’t too impressed with her first date with the Cork man, who previously told The Tommy Tiernan Show how he hadn’t really planned a date, much to Therese’s horror.

Evoke report that Therese left the date after 15 minutes, miffed that Roy had no plans but just the suggestion of drinks or the cinema.

Roy won her over eventually, with the pair marrying at the Church of Our Lady Crowned in Mayfield, County Cork in 1997.

At their time of meeting, Therese worked as a dental assistant.

Theresa is notoriously private, so it’s unknown if she still works in dentistry.

Shannon

Very little is known about Roy’s eldest daughter Shannon, who is thought to be in her early 30s.

The eldest of the Keane clan keeps a low profile out of the spotlight, however, Roy has paid tribute to his eldest on occassion,

In 2021, the doting dad shared a series of photos of himself and Shannon through the years, as well as two picture of herself holding two children, thought to be Roy’s eldest grandchildren.

‘Happy birthday to my eldest,’ Roy wrote at the time, ‘You’ve brought me the most trouble but also the most joy x.’

Caragh

Caragh is Roy’s second oldest child and daughter, and perhaps the most well-known. The entrepreneur launched her very own food brand, Superkeen.

The business idea came following her diagnosis of autoimmune disease lupus, which attacks the bodies tissues and organs.

Caragh had just qualified as a teacher but was forced to turn down the job when she was bed-bound as a result of lupus.

The diagnosis led Caragh to being more thoughtful about the food she was eating and monitor the affects certain foods had on her body

This, in turn, inspired Caragh to launch Superkeen, a brand which works to support an anti-inflammatory lifestyle.

Earlier this year, Caragh announced her engagement following a ‘very special trip.’

Aidan

Aidan is the only son of the Cork footballing legend, and last year hit headlines when he married his longtime love, Patsy.

Snaps from the big day were shared via big sister Caragh, who wrote that the weekend was ‘the most perfect’ as they celebrated the happy couple.

Now, there’s further excitement for the newlyweds, who have revealed they are expecting their first child.

Patsy announced the news via TikTok, writing to Aidan: ‘Six months ago you made me a wife… and now you’ve made me a mummy.’

The sweet news comes not long after Patsy’s beloved mum passed away.

The newest arrival in the Keane clan will be the latest grandchild for Roy and Theresa.

Leah

Roy Keane’s children keep a low profile, therefore it’s unknown what daughter Leah works as.

Last year, Leah welcomed the arrival of her first child with her partner Taylor Harwood Bellis.

Leah is engaged to the Southampton footballer, with the pair welcoming their daughter Iris in December.

The couple announced their pregnancy news in August, sharing a video which included a series of clips including one of Leah holding a positive pregnancy test.

Leah and Taylor got engaged in Italy in 2024, with the defender popping the question while the couple enjoyed a cruise around the Amalfi Coast.
