Former Miss Ireland Holly Carpenter has revealed which celeb was a ‘handful’ to work with while she was on Britain’s Next Top Model.

Holly was just 21-years-old when she was a contestant on the show in 2013. Holly was one of the 14 finalists and was eliminated in episode nine, finishing in eighth place.

The Dubliner told EVOKE what it was like to take part in one of the toughest shows on telly at the time.

Reflecting on her time on the show, Holly said: ‘It was mad because Tyra (Banks) was an executive producer of the one I did, but I never got to meet her.

‘But Elle MacPherson was a handful. She was just very different on and off camera.’

Holly said Kylie Minogue’s sister, Dannii, was lovely. ‘Kylie Minogue’s sister, Dannii, was lovely,’ she said. ‘It’s mad…I was 21 when I did that.’

Holly said that although taking part in the show was bad for her mental health and body confidence, she admitted: ‘Nobody forced me to do it.’

‘It’s funny, because sometimes when I talk about how negative it was for my mental health and my body image and all those things, nobody forced me to do it.

‘I kind of went into it knowing that it was going to be a bit toxic, but I obviously just wanted to do it. So yeah, I’m glad I did all of them, even Miss World and stuff, which was a bananas experience.

‘I think Irish girls are just kind of… we do stuff for the craic as well. We don’t take ourselves too seriously.’

Holly quit modelling at 24 and said she is enjoying being able to relax more about body image. She admitted she would love to step into the world of radio presenting in the future.

She said: ‘I like being able to relax a bit more about body image and stuff now, but I would love to do more radio and TV, definitely. That’s what I’d love.

‘At the moment I’m working mostly with beauty and skincare brands, which I really enjoy, but it would be nice to get back into that thing. My ideal scenario would be a breakfast show.’
