She told RSVP at the time: ‘I’ve always gotten on with my Mum, always. There was only myself and my brother in the house, so I have a great relationship with her.

‘We’re well able to have a row every now and again as well, but we have a close bond. We are very into the same things; we shop together, we go walking together, I enjoy going for lunches and dinners with her and my dad.

‘She’s a great woman, and I enjoy her company. I found I admired my mother even more when I became a mother.’

She added at the time that she hopes to have the same level of energy as her mum when she gets to her age.

‘What I admire about my Mum is how she keeps going. She looks great for her age, she’s in great health, she walks everyday. She always keeps herself going both physically and mentally, she always has a crossword or some sort of a puzzle in front of her, she loves to read and she’s always looking up new words.

‘I admire how she stays young at heart and I think it’s because of the way she lives her life – I hope to have that energy when I’m her age.’
