American actress Courteney Cox has reportedly parted ways with her Snow Patrol beau, Johnny McDaid.

The couple had been together for more than ten years after they were introduced to each other by Ed Sheeran at a Los Angeles party.

The couple were engaged for a period of time. Despite the engagement being called off, they remained together.

This weekend, the Daily Mail report that the couple have called time on their romance.

It is understood the split comes amid the star couple leading ‘different lives’ with Courteney predominantly based in the US, and Johnny based in the UK.

A friend close to the pair told the Daily Mail: ‘Johnny speaks incredibly highly of Courteney. They had a very deep relationship and they remain extremely amicable.

‘They are great friends and care about each other very much.’

PEOPLE report that the couple were last seen spending time out and about together in September 2025 when they attended the US Open.

Before that, Courteney paid tribute to the musician on his 48th birthday.

Taking to Instagram at the time, the Friends star shared a series of photos and wrote: ‘Happy birthday to the man who can do most anything.

‘I love you always J.’

Courteney and Johnny began dating in 2013 and got engaged nine months later. They split in 2015 but got back together the following year.

In 2024, Courteney shared a glimpse inside the break-up, revealing her other half split with her one minute into a couple’s therapy session.

Speaking on Minnie Driver’s podcast Minnie Questions, Courteney said: ‘When Johnny and I broke up five years ago… so three years in we broke up and it was really intense. We broke up in therapy. I didn’t know it was coming.

‘Whether I should have or not, it was just like, we went to this therapist to talk about our boundaries, what we could and couldn’t accept about each other.

‘Instead, he just broke up [with me] in the first minute.’
