The widower of the late Boyzone singer Stephen Gately has shared an update with his followers just months after he was diagnosed with cancer.
Andrew Cowles – who was married to the Dubliner in 2006 – revealed in February his shock cancer diagnosis and underwent radiotherapy and chemotherapy in recent months to battle the disease.
Now Andrew has shared an update with fans about his cancer treatment.

He told his followers on social media: ‘My 3 month post cancer treatment MRI scan has come back clear, which is wonderful news! (sic)
‘I’ll have a PET/CT scan in July which will be the final confirmation… but it’s looking great! (sic)’
Andrew first revealed his cancer back in February, announcing: ‘We’re finally home in Greece after nearly four months in London.
‘I had some cancer in my downstairs (exit) area, and I needed radiotherapy and chemotherapy… but I think it’s gone well and they expect a 80%+ total cure rate. I feel fine and have mostly missed my doggie,’ he wrote. (sic)
A year later, they had a commitment ceremony at a wedding chapel in Las Vegas and entered into a civil partnership in 2006 in London.
It was Andrew who found Stephen when he died from a congenital heart defect in their Mallorca holiday home in 2009.
He previously told The Mirror: ‘The night he died, we’d had such a good time, a lovely evening in our favourite restaurant. He was the most happy and confident he’d been in his life.
‘He died under my arm, curled up on the sofa and it was a few good hours before I realised he wasn’t sleeping.’
