‘I’m sure there’s going to be tears.’ Bláthnaid Treacy is in her frantic last days of packing before she and her family embark on the next chapter.
In days, they will be swapping the city lights of the capital for the small town charm of rural Wicklow and admit that the excitement is kicking in… there’s just one problem.
Bláthnaid revealed that they have just learned that they have one less day to move and need to be out of their old home on Thursday.

‘I thought we had to be gone by Friday, no, no. Gone by Thursday. So I’m down a day; I thought I had a whole other day to pack up and organise stuff, but actually sometimes I think when you get that little added pressure, it makes you be a little bit more organised,’ she said.
Despite losing a day, Bláthnaid has a plan in place to move all of the heavy items and has already carried out bigger jobs like scrubbing the oven and power-hosing the garden, but also has a hectic filming schedule to get through.
‘We’re trying to make it look as nice as possible for the new people, but yeah, I’m filming all day today, all day tomorrow, and then I get back Wednesday night, Thursday pack, pack, pack and then I’m gone.’

At the same time, she is trying to organise everything from carpets to signing papers for their new home.
‘It’s like everything always happens at the exact same time. Why is that? It’s so funny, but at least I’m getting a full night’s sleep every night, which is just beautiful,’ she added.

Bláthnaid continued: ‘I can’t believe it’s all happening now. I felt really sad, but now this week I actually feel really excited, but I’ll keep you all up to date; I’m sure there’s going to be tears.’
In a further update, Bláthnaid revealed that she had just remembered that she needs to cancel the utilities and the internet and tell the bank that they had moved address.
‘It’s like an endless list!’ she signed off.
