Elaine Crowley has revealed the one alcoholic drink she steers clear of, branding it ‘the work of the devil.’
The Ireland AM presenter joined Mario Rosenstock on his namesake podcast, The Mario Rosenstock Show.
The pair chatted about everything from mortgages to Elaine’s stint on the breakfast show and the one alcoholic drink she keeps well away from.
A clip from the podcast saw the Cork native tell Mario: ‘You would be surprised the amount of people that white wine has a terrible effect on.’
The comment prompted Mario to admit that he ‘gets toxic,’ with Elaine adding: ‘I turn… my mother, god rest her, on her deathbed said, “Please, never drink a white wine.” Because any time I used to drink white wine in my youth, I’d go bananas.’
‘I turn into a bit of a b*tch,’ Mario answered.
‘I just go psycho,’ Elaine confessed.
‘So, you’re the same as me,’ Mario clarified. ‘Absolute a*shole.’
‘Absolutely demonesque,’ Elaine continued. ‘I grow horns, literally. Oh, could you imagine if the two of us drank a bottle of white wine.’
Mario went on to share that he recently had champagne, which he finds even ‘worse.’
‘The bubbles put it straight into your veins,’ he explained to Elaine. ‘I started crying!’
It comes not long after it was revealed that Elaine would be appearing on the new series of Gogglebox, which kicks off with a celebrity special next week.
The beloved reality show returns on Wednesday, September 9, with Elaine joining her Ireland AM colleagues Muireann O’Connell and Eric Roberts to have their say on what is on Irish TV.
Other big names featuring on the special include Ryan Tubridy, who will be joined by restaurateur Mark Wogan, and Claire Byrne who joins up with her Newstalk colleague Ciara Doherty.
