SETU Waterford Wildcats have moved to the top of the Domino’s Women’s Super League table after making it three wins from three with an impressive 74-61 victory over Liffey Celtics at the Mercy Gym on Saturday evening.

The Waterford side continued their perfect start to the new campaign with a 13-point victory in a top-of-the-table clash, maintaining their unbeaten record and moving into first place in the standings.

Brooklyn Grey led the scoring for the Wildcats with an outstanding 30-point contribution, playing a major role in securing another important victory for the home side.

Sarah Hickey also delivered an impressive performance, finishing with 19 points, while Sanja Brikmane added 14 as the trio combined for 63 of Waterford’s 74 points.

The result follows last weekend’s notable victory over reigning champions Killester and further strengthens the Wildcats’ impressive start to the season.

Having opened their campaign with back-to-back victories, the Wildcats faced another significant test against a Liffey Celtics side also competing at the top end of the table.

However, the Waterford outfit continued their winning run, with their attacking firepower helping them secure another valuable league victory.

The win sees the Wildcats take maximum points from their opening three fixtures, putting them in a strong position in the early stages of the Women’s Super League campaign.

With victories over the defending champions Killester and now Liffey Celtics, the Wildcats have laid down an early marker as they look to challenge at the top of the table this season.

Three games played, three wins and top of the league. It’s been a perfect start for SETU Waterford Wildcats.
