Manager Tomás Mac an tSaoir says his side is refreshed and ready ahead of this weekend’s TG4 Munster Senior Ladies Football Final against Kerry.

The Déise travel to Kilmallock today for a 2 pm throw-in, aiming to claim provincial silverware after an impressive championship campaign so far.

Speaking ahead of the final, Mac an tSaoir said the week’s break came at the perfect time for the squad after three demanding championship games in succession.

He said the rest allowed players to recover physically, particularly with many travelling long distances from Dublin and Limerick for training sessions throughout the campaign.

Waterford already defeated Kerry earlier in the championship, but the manager believes little can be taken from that encounter heading into a Munster final.

Mac an tSaoir expects a very different challenge this weekend, with Kerry continuing to strengthen their side by bringing experienced players back into the panel as the season progresses.

He acknowledged the quality and experience within the Kingdom ranks, describing them as a team “well used to winning” with players carrying All-Ireland and Munster success into Today’s decider.

One of the major positives for Waterford this season has been their spread of scoring options. Players, including Brid McMaugh, Kellyanne Hogan, and Chloe Fennell, have all made significant impacts during the campaign.

The Waterford boss said improving scoring contributions across the team had been a major focus since the end of last season and believes it has helped create a more balanced and dangerous attacking unit.

Mac an tSaoir also praised the experience and resilience within the squad, saying many of the players have developed through big club championship campaigns with their respective clubs in recent years.

Excitement continues to build around the Waterford team both locally and nationally, with growing belief that this group can challenge strongly throughout the season.
