Waterford Masters face a huge challenge this weekend when they take on a star-studded Dublin side in the Division One All-Ireland Masters semi-final.

The game throws in at 1pm in Kilcullen GAA, with Waterford heading into the clash full of confidence following an excellent campaign.

The Déise have enjoyed a strong run through the competition, recording victories over Laois, Wicklow, Cork, Kildare and Westmeath, while also drawing with Limerick.

Those results saw Waterford finish third in a table of 20 teams, ensuring their place in the Division One semi-finals.

They now face a Dublin side that has been perfect throughout the campaign, winning all six of their games.

The Sky Blues boast a wealth of experience and household names, with Bernard Brogan captaining the side. Among the other familiar faces in the Dublin ranks are Eoghan O’Gara, Kevin McMenamin, Denis Bastick and Ross McConnell.

Despite the quality within the Dublin squad, Waterford will certainly not be without a chance.

The Déise have shown throughout the campaign that they can compete with the very best, and preparations for the semi-final have gone well, with the squad playing a couple of challenge games in recent weeks.

Having already navigated a difficult campaign against some of the country’s strongest Masters teams, Waterford will be hoping to produce another big performance and secure a place in the Division One All-Ireland Masters final.
