Waterford FC manager Graham Coughlan says the club is working hard behind the scenes to strengthen the squad before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

The Blues boss says he expects to bring in one or two players, but admits recruitment at this stage of the season is difficult, with quality players hard to acquire.

Coughlan says the Blues are not the only club facing those challenges, with teams across the league limited in terms of the players available.

He says any new arrivals will be brought in to strengthen the squad and make an immediate impact.

Meanwhile, Waterford FC have confirmed the departure of 20-year-old goalkeeper Jason Healy, who has joined Northern Ireland Championship side Harland and Wolff Welders.

Healy progressed through the Waterford FC academy after joining at Under-13 level and made his senior debut in 2023.

The former Republic of Ireland Under-17 international also represented his country at the UEFA Under-17 European Championships and earned 12 caps overall.
