Waterford’s darts community turns its attention to Killarney this weekend as the B Inter-County Championships get underway at the Gleneagle Hotel from April 24th to 26th.
Two strong Deise sides will make the trip, with particular focus on the Waterford B team, who head into the competition with momentum after reaching the quarter-finals last year, where they were narrowly edged out by Sligo. That performance has earned them a seeded place for Friday night’s open singles draw, placing them among some of the top counties in the country, including Dublin, Limerick, Galway, Donegal, Mayo, and Roscommon.
There’s a real sense of optimism around the panel, with an experienced and balanced squad guided by managers Eric Power and Dean Finn Forde. The team will be hoping to build on last year’s progress and make a deeper run in this year’s championship.
Action begins on Friday evening with the singles draw, while the team events get underway from 11 am on Saturday. Fans can follow all the matches live via Darts Connect as the competition unfolds.
Best wishes go to both the Waterford B and C teams as they represent the county on the national stage, with hopes high for a strong showing over the weekend.
