The 126th US Open Championship gets underway this week, with four Irish players in the field at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, New York.
Tee times for the first two rounds of the tournament are now available, as players prepare to face the iconic venue, which has a rich history stretching back more than 130 years and is widely regarded as one of the hardest tests in the game of golf.
The clubhouse at Shinnecock Hills is widely believed to be the first purpose-built golf clubhouse in America and will play host to 156 of the world’s best players this week, including four representing the Emerald Isle.

Reigning US Open Senior champion Padraig Harrington gets the Irish contingent started when he tees off alongside amateur Miles Russell and LIV star Cameron Smith. They start their round at 12:19 pm Irish time on Thursday, starting from the first hole, and 6:14 pm Irish time on Friday evening, starting from Hole 10.
Miles Russell, the No 10 amateur in the world, survived a bogey on the first play-off hole to grab the fourth and final spot from the Florida qualifier and had his close friend Charlie Woods, Tiger’s son, as his caddie.
2010 US Open winner Graeme McDowell is paired with American duo Patrick Rodgers and Keith Mitchell. The former major winner also had to go through qualifying to secure his spot in New York after his exemption expired in 2020. They tee off at 12:19 pm Irish time on Thursday, starting from hole 10, and 6:14 pm Irish time on Friday evening, from the first hole.

Rory McIlroy tees off alongside familiar faces and Ryder Cup teammates Ludvig Åberg and Tommy Fleetwood. They tee off at 12:52 pm Irish time on Thursday, starting from hole 10, and 6:47 pm Irish time on Friday evening, starting from the first hole.
McIlroy and Fleetwood were on opposite ends of the spectrum the last time the US Open was at Shinnecock, with the Northern Irishman shooting an 80 and missing the cut, while Fleetwood charged with a final round 63 that nearly edged winner Brooks Koepka.
Rounding off the Irish faces at the US Open is Shane Lowry, who will be playing alongside American Alex Smalley and Chile’s Joaquin Niemann. Lowry will be hoping for a strong finish after having several final-day mishaps in recent months. The group tees off at 6:47 pm Irish time on Thursday, starting from hole 10, and 12:52 pm Irish time on Friday, starting from the first hole.
