Tramore AFC’s multi-award-winning ladies soccer team have been honoured at a special Mayor’s Reception.
The reception was held yesterday to recognise the team’s achievements and celebrate the hard work and dedication that has gone into their success.
Tramore AFC chairman John Power paid tribute to the players, as well as the coaches, mentors, volunteers and others working behind the scenes who have helped the club achieve success and continue to compete at a high level.
Power highlighted the contribution of those involved across the club before delivering a simple message to the players, telling them: “Ye have no idea how proud of ye all we are.”
The reception was facilitated by Metropolitan Mayor of Waterford Lola O’Sullivan, providing an opportunity to formally recognise the team’s achievements.
It proved an enjoyable occasion for everyone involved, with the focus firmly on celebrating the players and acknowledging the work that has helped Tramore AFC’s ladies team become one of the standout sporting success stories in the area.
The reception also provided an opportunity for the wider Tramore AFC community to come together and celebrate the achievements of the team, while recognising the many people whose contribution often happens away from the spotlight.
