There is plenty of Championship hurling across Waterford on Sunday, with a full programme of senior, intermediate and junior fixtures set to provide another exciting day of club action.

The headline fixture sees reigning champions Ballygunner face De La Salle in Group A of the JJ Kavanagh & Sons County Senior Hurling Championship. Throw-in at Walsh Park is at 3.45 pm, with both sides looking to make an early statement in one of the standout ties of the opening rounds.

Earlier at Walsh Park, Roanmore take on Mount Sion in Group B at 2 pm. Both clubs will be eager to get their championship campaigns off to a winning start before attention switches to the evening clash in Cappoquin, where Lismore welcome Fourmilewater at 6.30 pm.

The Premier Intermediate Championship also promises plenty of entertainment. Shamrocks face Affane/Cappoquin/Tourin in Lismore at 1 pm in Group A, while Group B action sees Tulach An Iarainn take on An Rinn in Cappoquin at 5 pm.

There is also a busy schedule in the junior grades. The Western Junior C Hurling Championship sees Geraldines meet Brickey Rangers in Aglish at midday, while An Rinn host Mount Melleray in League Division 2.

In the Gerry Kennedy Crash Repairs Junior B Championship, three morning fixtures are down for decision. Roanmore welcome St. Mary’s East at 10.45 am, Kilmacthomas host Mount Sion from 11 am, and Micheal MacCraith face Ballygunner in Tramore, also at 11 am.
