Sharlene Mawdsley has added another accolade to her achievements.

The Irish athletics star has just landed a major sponsorship deal that will run over several years and has left her in disbelief.

She was utterly thrilled as she announced the news.

Sharlene has signed a deal with Nike and told her fans: ‘I have officially signed a professional contract with Nike.

‘I can’t believe I get to run professionally for @nike over the next number of years. Thank you so much to the @melbournetrackclub for making this dream happen.’

As she announced the news, Sharlene shared pictures of herself modelling Nike gear.

In one, she is posing up a storm in a blue and yellow leotard. In another, she is showing off a pair of multicoloured trainers.

Phil Healy was among the first to congratulate her, writing: ‘So, so deserved.’ ‘Incredible’, added Niamh de Brún.

‘What a perfect match. You deserve it,’ posted a third person. ‘The blue and gold really suits you,’ added someone else.

Sharlene’s good news comes after she clocked her fourth personal best of the season in Paris.

She ended up finishing fifth in the Paris Diamond League in June with a time of 50.06 over 400 metres.
