Ringmahon Rangers have been handed a five-year ban from the FAI Cup following their decision to concede their second-round tie against Bohemians.

The Cork club has also been suspended from the FAI Intermediate Cup for the next three seasons and fined €5,000.

The Munster Senior League side opted not to fulfil their scheduled FAI Cup fixture, citing concerns over the July 19th date. Ringmahon said the timing could have created difficulties if Cork were to qualify for the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final, with several players and supporters potentially affected.

The Football Association of Ireland has now confirmed the sanctions, ruling that the club breached competition regulations by failing to play the fixture.

Ringmahon Rangers have the right to appeal the decision
