Waterford boxing is celebrating double success after two local fighters claimed national titles at the 2026 National U19 Championship Finals.
Michael Reilly of St Paul’s Boxing Club was crowned champion in the 55 kilo division against Lee Largey Snodden of Immaculata Boxing Club.
Reilly secured the title on a 3,2 split decision.
There was more success for the county through Dungarvan Boxing Club fighter Jake Fitzgerald. He produced a dominant performance to win the 90 kilo final against Joe Joyce of Athlone Boxing Club on a unanimous 5,nil decision.
The victories mark a major achievement for both clubs and continue a strong tradition of underage boxing success in Waterford.
The National U19 Championships are regarded as one of the top competitions in Irish amateur boxing, with many former winners progressing to elite and international level.
