Munster Rugby will mark the 10th anniversary of Anthony Foley’s passing with a series of special tributes during their Investec Champions Cup clash with Racing 92 at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday, October 17.

The fixture comes one day after the anniversary of Foley’s sudden passing in Paris in 2016.

Foley remains one of the most significant figures in Munster Rugby history, having represented the province as a player and captain before later taking on the role of Head Coach.

The Munster family will come together in Cork to remember his contribution to the province, with a number of tributes planned before and during the game.

Before kick-off, Jean Wallace and members of Shannon RFC will perform ‘There Is An Isle’ in Foley’s honour.

A photo display celebrating Foley’s career will also be available in the Red Shed area of Marina Park, immediately outside the stadium.

Munster players will wear special commemorative presentation jackets featuring the Munster crest and the number eight.

There will also be a pre-match presentation involving the captains of Munster and Racing 92, with both exchanging jerseys featuring the number eight.

During the match, the Munster Rugby Supporters Club will lead a round of applause in the eighth minute in honour of Foley.

At half-time, boys’ and girls’ Minis teams from Ballina-Killaloe RFC and Shannon RFC will play on the pitch, with both clubs having strong links to Foley.

Further details around the matchday tributes will be confirmed by Munster Rugby closer to the fixture.
