Munster Rugby will bring their men’s squad to communities across all six counties this season as part of a series of open training sessions during the 2026/27 campaign.

The first three sessions have now been confirmed, with Thurles RFC hosting the opening event on Friday, August 7th, from 12 pm to 2 pm. Newcastle West RFC will welcome the squad on August 14th, before Ballina/Killaloe RFC hosts the third session on August 21st.

Additional open training sessions will also take place in Cork, Waterford and Kerry later in the season, with dates and venues to be announced.

Supporters attending the events will have the opportunity to watch the team train before meeting players and coaches afterwards for photographs and autographs.

Munster Rugby says the initiative builds on the success of last year’s pre-season visits to Ennis RFC, Rockwell College and Castleisland RFC, which proved popular with supporters across the province.

Munster Rugby Head of Rugby Development Colm McMahon says the programme is an opportunity to strengthen the connection between the professional squad and local communities.

He says clubs play a vital role in rugby across Munster and that the open sessions will give young players, families and supporters the chance to meet the squad, watch training and feel part of the wider Munster Rugby community.

Munster’s Ireland internationals are expected to rejoin the squad towards the end of August following the summer break.
