Waterford Camogie has confirmed that Michael Boland and his backroom team have stepped down from their roles with the Waterford senior camogie team by mutual agreement.

Boland took charge of the county’s senior side for the 2026 season, overseeing a historic campaign which saw Waterford reach their first-ever National League final, before going on to compete in a Munster final and secure a place in the All-Ireland Senior Championship quarter-final.

In a statement, Waterford Camogie chairman Sean Molloy paid tribute to Boland and his backroom team for their commitment over the past two seasons.

“Michael gave this county his full commitment over the past 2 seasons, at considerable personal cost in time and effort, and he has our respect for it,” Molloy said.

“Both parties have agreed that this is the right point for a change, and that decision was reached amicably and by agreement.”

Molloy also thanked Boland and his backroom team on behalf of the County Committee, players and clubs, wishing them every success in the future.

The announcement brings an end to Boland’s tenure following what was a landmark year for Waterford camogie.

Under his guidance, the senior squad reached new heights, with the National League final appearance representing a first in the county’s history. Waterford subsequently reached the Munster final before advancing to the All-Ireland Senior Championship quarter-final.

Neither Michael Boland nor the Waterford County Committee will be making any further comment on the decision.

Waterford Camogie says it wishes Boland and his backroom team well and thanked them for their service to the county.
