Manchester City have reportedly been found guilty of 114 of the 115 financial rule charges brought against them by the Premier League.

The reported finding comes from an independent commission which has been examining the case following charges issued against the club in February 2023.

City were accused of breaching Premier League financial regulations across a number of seasons between 2009 and 2018, including allegations relating to financial information, player and manager payments and profitability and sustainability rules.

The club was also charged with failing to cooperate with the Premier League’s investigation, which began in 2018.

Manchester City have consistently denied the allegations.

The case was heard by an independent commission between September and December 2024, with the outcome remaining confidential until now. Reports today say the commission has found City guilty on all but one of the 115 charges.

The Premier League has not publicly confirmed the reported verdict and says the process remains ongoing.

Sanctions have also yet to be decided. The Premier League’s rules provide for a range of possible sporting and financial sanctions, while Manchester City are expected to appeal any findings against them.

The case is one of the longest-running financial disciplinary matters in Premier League history, with the original investigation beginning in 2018.
