It’s only 5 days now until Man United come to Croke Park to face off against bitter Premier League rivals Leeds United in front of a sell-out crowd.

It’ll be the first football match at the stadium since 2009, and the first time ever two club sides have competed at the home of the GAA. After Arsenal sold out the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday, over 82,000 people are expected to descend on Jones Road.

It’s set to be a huge night for fans of both sides, but for Red Devils supporters, it could be a landmark evening in Dublin.

Next Wednesday’s match marks the second-last friendly on Manchester United’s pre-season tour as they prepare for the start of the Premier League, which they kick off with a 12:30pm game away at newly-promoted Hull City on Saturday, August 22.

With the Premier League just on the horizon then, World Cup stars are set to be integrated back into the pre-season preparations for the Leeds clash, including England duo Kobbie Mainoo and, more interestingly, Marcus Rashford.

Rashford is set to be reintegrated into the training plan after Barcelona chose not to activate the reported €30million buy clause in his loan deal, despite impressing at the Catalan club as they won La Liga. The side chose to spend up to €85million on Anthony Gordon from Newcastle instead, meaning Marcus Rashford is back on the books at Old Trafford.

It’s believed that United are still looking to offload Rashford, who is reportedly earning more than €350,000 a week in wages after United’s qualification to the Champions League last season.

However, with the England forward not yet looking like he’s willing to take a pay cut to join a new side, he could be brought back into the first team and potentially play.

Rashford hasn’t played for Manchester United for over 600 days, when he featured in United’s Europa League win over Viktoria Plzeň in the early days of the Ruben Amorim era. His number 10 jersey has been given to Brazilian Matheus Cunha since his loan spells away from the club.

However, with Michael Carrick at the helm now, the winger could feature next season, and even potentially against Leeds in Croke Park.
