Waterford FC defender Jesse Dempsey has completed a 12-month loan move to Fleetwood Town ahead of the 2026/27 EFL League Two season.

The 21-year-old made 26 appearances for the Blues after making his senior debut in May 2025 and scored his first League of Ireland goal against Drogheda United last season.

Dempsey now links up with Matt Lawlor’s Fleetwood side, whose League Two campaign gets underway in a fortnight with an away trip to Chesterfield.

The move is expected to conclude Waterford FC’s transfer business ahead of the remainder of the season.
