Dunmore Badminton Club is taking on a 12-hour sporting challenge next month to raise funds for Breast Cancer Ireland.

Members and friends of the club will take part in a non-stop Badminton Marathon on Saturday, October 17th, with the shuttlecock set to stay in the air from 9am until 9pm.

The event will take place at St Thomas Church on Brasscock, Dunmore Road, Waterford, with participants taking part in games and challenges throughout the day.

The club has set a fundraising target of €1,500, with more than €515 already raised towards that goal.

All funds raised will go directly to Breast Cancer Ireland.

Dunmore Badminton Club says breast cancer has touched the lives of many people in the local community, whether through friends, family members, teammates or colleagues.

The 12-hour marathon will run from 9am to 9pm on Saturday, October 17th at St Thomas Church in Dunmore.
