Waterford manager Peter Queally has named his starting fifteen for this weekend’s crucial Munster Senior Hurling Championship Round 2 meeting with Tipperary.

The Déise welcome their near neighbours to Azzurri Walsh Park on Sunday afternoon (throw-in 4pm), with a strong and experienced side announced as they look to build momentum in the provincial campaign.

Billy Nolan gets the nod in goal, with a solid full-back line of Ian Kenny, captain Mark Fitzgerald, and Aaron O’Neill positioned in front of him. Jack Fagan and Iarlaith Daly are named on the wings, while Shane Bennett slots in at centre-back in a defence that blends physicality and composure.

In midfield, Paddy Leavey partners Darragh Lyons, a pairing that will be key in contesting primary possession against a typically powerful Tipperary engine room.

Up front, Waterford boasts plenty of attacking threat. Calum Lyons, Jamie Barron, and Jack Prendergast form the half-forward line, with Dessie Hutchinson, Stephen Bennett, and Seán Walsh named inside — a full-forward line capable of causing serious problems if supplied with quality ball.

There is also strong depth on the bench, with the likes of Alex Reade, Conor Keane, and Tadhg de Burca among the options available to Queally as the game unfolds.

With Walsh Park expected to be rocking, Waterford will be targeting a big performance on home soil against Liam Cahill’s side in what promises to be a high-intensity Munster showdown.
