There is plenty at stake across the Waterford & District League this weekend, with two cup finals headlining an action-packed programme of local soccer.

The marquee fixture on Saturday sees Villa take on Portlaw in the Jimmy Searson Premier Cup Final. The sides meet at Ozier Park with kick-off at 4pm, as both clubs bid to lift one of the county’s most prestigious honours.

Before the cup final, there is a full schedule of league action.

In the Azzurri Division 1A League, Villa host Johnville at 11am, while St. Paul’s welcome Carrick United and St. Joseph’s entertain Piltown, with both matches kicking off at 1pm.

The Azzurri Division 1B League also has three fixtures on Saturday afternoon. Kilmacow take on Southend, Mooncoin host Ballinroad, and Bohemians face Villa, with all three games getting underway at 1pm.

Attention turns back to Ozier Park on Sunday morning for another piece of silverware, as Seaview Celtic 1B face Southend 1A in the Sheridan’s First Division Cup Final. Kick-off is at 11am, with both sides hoping to finish their campaign by lifting the trophy.
