The Ombudsman for Children Dr Niall Muldoon told the Independent Pandemic Evaluation Panel that children suffered disproportionately as a result of restrictive measures implemented by the State during the pandemic. He outlined that the closure of schools for prolonged periods, the shutting down of playgrounds, cancellation of sports and other activities, and other mobility restrictions significantly disrupted children's lives.
