A Waterford librarian has received the title of Staff Champion in this year’s Library Association of Ireland awards.
In December, Executive Librarian Tracy McEneaney of Ardkeen Library was named Staff Champion for 2025.
Tracy attended an event in Dublin on Tuesday to accept the award.
“It’s nominated by your colleagues and voted on by a group – it’s a Waterford win and I’m really delighted,” she told WLR. “Because you’re nominated by your colleagues, it makes it even more special.”
Waterford City and County Libraries praised their colleague, saying:
“Tracy’s enthusiasm for libraries and reading is obvious to anyone who has met her or heard her on national and local radio promoting libraries and books.
Tracy’s creativity and dedication to community make her a wonderful and inspiring colleague, manager and librarian.”
