Waterford Harvest Festival is hosting a breakfast with a difference at the Harvest Stage on Sunday, 6th September, and the local community is being encouraged to come along, bring a donation and help make a real difference to families experiencing food poverty in Waterford.

Registration is now open for The Big Breakfast Swap, a special community breakfast taking place from 9.30am to 11.00am, with just 50 places available.

The idea is simple: bring along some non-perishable food items to donate to the Waterford Food Bank, and in return, enjoy a complimentary breakfast blaa.

It’s a small swap with the potential to make a big impact.

The event has been organised to support the vital work of the Waterford Food Bank, which helps provide essential food supplies to individuals and families in the local community who are experiencing food insecurity.

With the cost of living continuing to put pressure on household budgets, donations of everyday non-perishable items can make a genuine difference. Everything from tinned foods and pasta to rice, cereals and other long-life essentials can help stock the shelves and provide support to people who need it.

And while the food donation is the most important part of the morning, there’s also a delicious thank-you waiting for those who take part.

The complimentary breakfast blaa is being generously supported by three fantastic local businesses, The Olive Café, Countrystyle Foods and Hickey’s Bakery, who have come together to help make the event possible.

The Big Breakfast Swap is about bringing people together around something as simple as breakfast, while remembering that for many families, having enough food on the table cannot be taken for granted.

Organisers are now calling on the Waterford community to get behind the event and fill all 50 places.

You don’t need to do anything complicated to take part. Simply register for one of the available places, bring along a donation of non-perishable food on the morning, and join in for breakfast.

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, in the order applications are received. Please note that your place is only secured once you receive a confirmation email.

With 50 places available and 50 donations the goal, the hope is that The Big Breakfast Swap will turn one simple morning into a meaningful contribution to the Waterford Food Bank.

So, why not make breakfast count?
